Grading Policy

Dear all,

It's almost the end of the semester,
and I'm right now working on your final scores following the policy below.

  • Attendance (20%), Class participation (output exercise, listening log, blog post/comment, learning portfolio) (20%), Group work (presentation, feedback to/interaction with other groups) (20%), Test performance (quiz, midterm, final) (40%)
If you wanna talk to me,
come meet me in the office (better by appointment).

You should reach 265 in the listening test and 220 in the reading test.
If you fail (Check the list below),
you should take make-up tests in the following week (6/14~6/18).

Individual Blogging Task3 (~5/28)

You've heard people talking about their business ideas
(from Listening Log 4),
but you do know very well that there are always OBSTACLES in running a business.

That's why we've been discussing so many current PROBLEMS and even potential ones that are somehow holding back some of the big, international brands (such as Apple, Amazon and Google), as well as some local business organizations (like CPBL)

  • Search for a news article (in English! at least 2 to 3 paragraphs!) (online article preferred) that is related to the given topic
    (one article per group)
  • Read the article and see how it is related to the topic (strength? weakness? opportunity? threat?)
  • Share with your classmates the article link (as a post)
  • Get ready to talk about the article on 03/23

Wiktionary offers us "a list of the 850 words in the Basic English core vocabulary".

Click on the link below for the word list.

You might think that these words are rather simple and commonly used in your everyday life.
Try to go deeper to see if you can find something else about how to use these basic words
(for different purposes)!

  2. Enter your student ID number for both username and password.
    Note: Exchange students and students who haven't been enrolled in this course have to email me (your name, department, student ID number) at wendychangnchu@gmail.com
  3. Begin the TOEIC test.
